Italian charm bracelets come in a few
different sizes, but the most popular, by far,
is the “medium” size that measures
3/8” or 9mm wide. In fact, if you want a
large selection of charms, you will find the 3/8” size
to be your optimal choice. Larger 5/8” wide
charms exist for men’s bracelets or women
wanting a more substantial bracelet. Some manufacturers
also make smaller charm bracelets for those wanting
a sleeker look or a thinner ankle bracelet.
Assuming you decide to go with the medium sized
links, the next question is, “How many links
do I need for my bracelet?”
As a general rule, most Italian starter bracelets
come with 14 plain links and the average woman
will need about 18 links to complete a full bracelet.
Of course, wrists come in a wide variety of sizes
and not everyone has the same tastes for how they
like a bracelet to fit. As a general rule, you
can measure your wrist and add about ½” to
figure out how many links you will need for a comfortable
fit.
